COVID-19 en pacientes oncológicos pediátricos

Resumen

Introducción: La COVID-19 afecta a todos, sin embargo, esta afectara más a personas con comorbilidades, siendo el cancer pediátrico uno de ellos.

Objetivo: Describir la relación de la COVID-19 en pacientes oncológicos pediátricos.

Material y Método: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica a partir de un total de 39 referencias bibliográficas. Se utilizaron artículos científicos en inglés y español, en formato electrónico, disponibles en las bases de datos PubMed, Scopus, Medline y en el motor de búsqueda Google Académico, además se exploró en páginas web de los ministerios de salud, OMS, Infomed y páginas web nacionales e internacionales. Se analizó la calidad, fiabilidad y validez de los artículos seleccionados para realizar una adecuada revisión.

Desarrollo: En pacientes oncológicos pediátricos se evidenció el incremento del riesgo de contagio y a desarrollar estadios graves por infección del SARS-CoV-2, aun no existe un consenso en cuanto al manejo de la COVID-19 en pacientes pediátricos con neoplasias.

Conclusiones: Los pacientes oncológicos pediátricos son más susceptibles a la infección por SARS-CoV2. En caso de estar en curso su tratamiento oncológico debe continuar con normalidad, se recomienda reforzar los estudios y las medidas preventivas en esta población especifica.
